PEUGEOT has opened orders for the new e-Partner, the 100% electric variant of the award-winning Partner van.
With orders now open for the e-Partner, PEUGEOT customers can choose a fully electric van across its entire Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) range, giving businesses and fleets the opportunity to choose the powertrain that best meets their needs.
Based on the award-winning PEUGEOT Partner, the all-electric e-Partner is available in Panel Van and Crew Van configurations and in Standard and Long body lengths to suit a variety of needs.
The Standard-length measures 4.4m long, while Long variants extend the e-Partner’s length to 4.8m – improving load capacity. Standard Panel Van variants feature up to 3.9m3 of load space with PEUGEOT’s Multi-Flex folding seats, while Long Panel Van variants increase the maximum load volume to 4.4m3.
With a maximum payload of up to 803kg on Panel Van Standard length variants and 751kg on Long variants, the e-Partner is ideal for small and large fleets alike. Crew Van models of the e-Partner come with a second seating row, increasing the maximum number of passengers to five.
The new e-Partner features a 50kWh battery connected to a 100kW (136hp) electric motor and achieves a range of up to 171 miles under WLTP testing. Drivers have a choice of three driving modes, Eco (60kW), which optimises vehicle range, Normal (80kW), which suits everyday driving conditions, and Power (100kW), which maximises performance when transporting heavy loads.
All e-Partner models come standard with a Mode 3 Type 2 Charging Cable (7.4kW), with a full 0-100% charge taking seven hours and 30 minutes using a 7.4kW charger. An 11kW three-phase charger is also available, with a full charge taking five hours.
Julie David, Managing Director, PEUGEOT, UK, said: “With order books now open for the new e-Partner, PEUGEOT customers can choose a fully electric van across our entire LCV range. This is a huge achievement for us as a brand, moving us one step closer to our target of offering an electrified variant across our entire passenger car and LCV range by 2025.”
The new e-Partner is available in Professional Premium and Asphalt Premium trim from launch. Panel Van configurations are available with both trims, while Crew Van variants are sold exclusively in Professional Premium trim.
Professional Premium models feature PEUGEOT’s Multi-Flex modular folding passenger bench seat, which helps improve load capacity, and features a pivoting writing table and a load-through bulkhead. Drivers also get an alarm, air conditioning, cruise control with a variable speed limiter, as well as an eight-inch capacitive touchscreen with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ as standard.
Asphalt Premium models come with 16-inch ‘Taranaki’ alloy wheels, body coloured rear bumper and side rubbing strips, as well as automatic windscreen wipers. Inside, the cabin features additional acoustic insulation for improved refinement, while all Asphalt Premium models also come with PEUGEOT’s Connected 3D Navigation, with a three-year subscription to live traffic alerts and a 10-inch Digital Driver’s Instrument Display. Front and rear parking sensors plus side and rear cameras are also included to help when reversing.

CCA’s forthcoming sale will see chassis #5506, the final Lea-Francis production car, go under the hammer
Offered directly from former Lea-Francis owner, Barrie Price
The rare car had its build suspended in 1990 and as it was never recommenced, the car is unfinished
To be offered late September, without reserve, at Stoneleigh Park
Classic Car Auctions (CCA) next sale will see a hugely rare car form part of the catalogue, the final production Ace of Spades which remains unfinished and is offered directly from the former Lea-Francis Cars Ltd owner, Barrie Price.
Mr Price, a Midlands engineer and entrepreneur, purchased the company in 1962 and in 1980 he and his friend, the late Peter Engelbach, decided to produce a new car and launched the distinctive ‘3-litre Sports’ using a ladder-type box-section chassis frame, with a hand-crafted aluminium body. At the 1992 Motor Show a longer version was shown, which revived the name Ace of Spades.
Five Ace of Spades were built to order in either short or long chassis configuration. The car offered here by CCA is the sixth and final example, chassis #5506. Its build was suspended in 1990 and therefore has remained unfinished its entire life. Accompanying the car is a letter of provenance from Mr Price which details his intentions to sell the car, as well as a fitted brass plaque which confirms the chassis and engine numbers.
Gary Dunne, CCA’s Sales Manager commented: “This is a rare opportunity, and we are delighted to offer chassis #5506 on behalf of Mr Price in our Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show Sale. Whilst the car requires a degree of work, finishing it is both exciting and special as it is one of just six!”.
Significantly, the Ace of Spades will be offered without reserve, on Saturday 25th September at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire. The CCA website not only details a series of photographs but a video from David Harper to which focuses on the car as well as featuring Mr Price too.
There are many more examples now live on Classic Car Auctions website now. To submit an entry alongside this one, please contact Classic Car Auctions today on 01926 640888 or email enquiries@classiccarauctions.co.uk to ensure you don’t miss out.
Aston Martin launch No Time To Die campaign with exclusive reveal of global TV spot featuring the iconic Aston Martin DB5
Celebration marked with unveil of giant replica of original 1965 Corgi DB5 model toy box in central London.
The launch marks the one-month countdown until the release of No Time To Die.
The Corgi box and car will be on display to the public at The Coaling Jetty, Battersea Power Station until 1 October 2021.
With only a month until the release of the 25th Bond movie, Aston Martin launched its No Time To Die campaign today with an exclusive screening of its No Time To Die TV spot, against the backdrop of London’s Battersea Power Station.
No Time To Die, to be released globally from September 2021, features four iconic Aston Martin models from past, present and future. James Bond’s highly-anticipated return to cinema marks the first time four different models have appeared in a 007 film: the DB5, the classic Aston Martin V8, the brand’s super GT – DBS and the exceptional Aston Martin Valhalla – the forthcoming mid-engined hypercar.
To celebrate the return of 007’s iconic Aston Martin DB5 to the big screen, Aston Martin and Corgi also unveiled a full-size replica of the original 1965 Corgi DB5 model. Located at The Coaling Jetty, outside Battersea Power Station, the life size model which measures 5.66 metres long, 2.7 metres tall and 2.7 metres deep, replicates the original Corgi design and houses an Aston Martin DB5 Goldfinger Continuation car. The DB5 is complete with a broad selection of working gadgets that fans will recognise from the classic James Bond film: rotating number plates, a retractable bullet proof rear shield, extending front over-riders and of course pop out machine guns.
Just 25 DB5 Goldfinger Continuation cars are being produced, more than 55 years after the last new DB5 rolled off the line at Aston Martin’s then global manufacturing base in Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire. All new cars are authentic reproductions of the DB5 seen on screen, available in one exterior colour specification – Silver Birch (just like the original) – with only some sympathetic modifications and enhancements to ensure the highest levels of quality and reliability.
Corgi is the original home of diecast scale modelling. What were once simply toys are now highly sought after in the expanding collectables market and the most famous Corgi release of all time is indisputably James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5, first released in 1965. Replicating the action features of the vehicle seen on-screen in Goldfinger, it was an instant success earning the UK ‘Toy of the Year’ and ‘Best Boys Toy’ titles at the National Association of Toy Retailers Awards in the same year. Priced originally at around 10/- (50p), the model has proven so popular over the years it has had to be retooled numerous times, allowing it to sell over 20 million units worldwide. It is still being produced to this day.
The grand unveil was carried out by Marek Reichman, EVP & Chief Creative Officer, Aston Martin Lagonda. Reichman was joined by Chris Corbould OBE, Special Effects Co-Ordinator, who is not only responsible for some of the most iconic James Bond action scenes from the past 14 films but was also heavily involved in the engineering of the eight DB5 stunt replicas produced for the movie and the working gadgets on the DB5 Goldfinger Continuation cars.
Marek Reichman said “We are really honored to be marking the start of the No Time To Die campaign today with this exciting unveil. Aston Martin’s relationship with James Bond spans decades and the DB5 is, without question, the most famous car in the world by virtue of its 50-plus year association. Working with EON Productions and Chris Corbould to build 25 of the DB5 Goldfinger Continuations was a truly unique project for everyone involved at Aston Martin. Now, to work with Corgi – another quintessential British brand – and to see James Bond’s most cherished car sitting inside a to-scale toy box in central London is quite outstanding”.
Chris Corbould said, “Having worked closely with Aston Martin over the years to bring to life some of the most ambitious Bond scenes, and most recently on No Time To Die I can genuinely say it is a privilege to be here today to help unveil this incredible display for such an iconic car that truly holds a special place in Bond history”.
The full-size replica Corgi DB5 box will be on display at Battersea Power Station for the general public to see until 1 October 2021.
Fans of The Wind in the Willows will be delighted to see Mr Toad’s car, from the 1996 film adaption of Kenneth Grahame’s classic story, in action at Beaulieu this summer, following its resurrection in the National Motor Museum workshop.
A four-wheeled star of Terry Jones’ film, which was later renamed Mr Toad’s Wild Ride, the replica Edwardian car has been brought back to life by the National Motor Museum engineers, following years of neglect. Now summer holiday visitors can see this striking piece of film history up close as it drives around the museum grounds.
The car may look like it dates from the early years of motoring, but in fact it was built in 1995 at Shepperton Studios especially for the film, in which director Jones also played Mr Toad, alongside a star-studded cast (including other former members of Monty Python). As the story called for a glamorous Edwardian-era tourer to be driven by the obsessive amphibian, a convincing replica was built.
Underneath the bespoke Roi-de-Belges style bodywork, built with a steel frame and inspired by the shape of a 1910 Hotchkiss 20/30, is a short-wheelbase Land Rover chassis and running gear. Rugged and suitably vintage-looking with its leaf-spring suspension, the Land Rover underpinnings were a smart choice for a hard-working film prop.
After filming, the car was used for promotional events for the film, when it is thought that the wings were deliberately damaged to stage a ‘crash’ by the reckless Mr Toad. Then the car spent many years suspended from the ceiling in a Planet Hollywood restaurant in Florida, before then being stored in a shipping container, which was so hot that many of the rubber parts melted. Immobile and with its tyres having been ripped from its custom-made wheels, the car was rediscovered in 2020 by film car expert Gordon Grant, who shipped it back to the UK.
In the National Motor Museum workshop, the remedial work took place, including getting the Land Rover four-cylinder engine running again, curing severe oil leaks, rebuilding the brakes, fitting new tyres and bringing the car back into fully-functioning order. Now trundling around the Beaulieu attraction for visitors to see, the rejuvenated car is exactly as it would have been when Mr Toad first took it for a wild ride. Poop poop!
There is plenty for all the family to do together at Beaulieu, including the National Motor Museum, Little Beaulieu, On Screen Cars, the ancestral Montagu home Palace House, Secret Army exhibition, 13th century Beaulieu Abbey and the stunning grounds and gardens.
