Hagerty reveals the 10 models that have commanded the highest premium thanks to a big-screen appearance in a Bond blockbuster
Report confirms an association with the spy franchise is enough to make car values soar
A starring role in a James Bond movie added on average over 1000 per cent to the value of a car, with one particular vehicle being worth nearly 5000 per cent more
A Mercedes-Benz used in No Time To Die offered for sale with a 38% premium before the film launches
Aston DB5 described as the most famous car in the world only makes the fourth-place spot
Two cars make the ‘best supporting actor’ nominations due to the fact they were never available on general sale
It was Auric Goldfinger in the 1964 James Bond movie who was said to have the Midas touch, but Hagerty has found that just an association with the spy franchise is enough to make car values soar.
Our valuation analysts compared the values of real Bond cars which were used during the production of the famous films to the prices of standard examples of the same model and found that a starring role in a James Bond movie added on average over 1000 per cent to the value of a car, with one particular vehicle being worth nearly 5000 per cent more than its road-going equivalent.
Because Hagerty monitors and tracks thousands of auction, dealer and private sales every year, we are able to compare the average sale price of a standard car with the sale price of the same model that has been used during movie making. We converted the prices using the exchange rate for that time, then compared it to the Hagerty Price Guide value for that year. Where the sale was before our records began, we arrived at a value through contemporary sales listings and other valuation resources.
In reverse order, Hagerty reveals the 10 models that have commanded the highest premium thanks to a big-screen appearance in a Bond blockbuster.
1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1, Diamonds Are Forever
Year of sale: 2004 Standard Hagerty Value: £9200 Bond Car Value: £12,650 Bond Premium: 37.5%
The red Ford Mustang Mach 1 driven by Tiffany Case certainly made a visual impact in the 1971 movie Diamonds are Forever, but it didn’t excite the buyers when offered for sale by Barrett-Jackson in 2004, failing to reach its reserve with a top bid of $23,000 (£12,650).
That was 37.5% more than a standard car was worth at the time, but the no-sale puts the car at the bottom of our list.
1991 Mercedes-Benz 190E, No Time To Die
Year of sale: 2021 Standard Hagerty Value: £6500 Bond Car Value: £8991 Bond Premium: 38%
This car is a strange one: it is currently for sale on classified advert site Car and Classic but it’s not yet been seen on screen, starring as it does in No Time to Die, the most recent movie in the franchise due for release on 30th September, and it doesn’t even feature in the trailers. Despite that, the value of this car is nearly 40% higher than a standard car – not a bad mark-up for something that, as far as we know, doesn’t have a huge role in the film.
1937 Bentley 4 ¼-Litre Gurney Nutting 3-Position DHC, Never Say Never Again
Year of sale: 2010 Standard Hagerty Value: £133,300 Bond Car Value: £221,500 Bond Premium: 66%
James Bond drove this car in a few scenes in the 1983 Warner Brothers blockbuster Never Say Never Again and it sold for £188,500 when it was auctioned by Bonhams in September 2004. Six years later, the car returned to the sale room, and this time Bonhams achieved £221,500 over two thirds more than a standard car of the time. This one was quite the star, however: not only did it have the Bond connection, but it also appeared in Magnum, P.I. and was a true concours example, having starred at Pebble Beach in 2003 following a restoration that reportedly cost in excess of $450,000.
1969 Aston Martin DBS-6, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
Year of sale: 1978 Standard Hagerty Value: £3050 Bond Car Value: £8991 Bond Premium: 182%
James Bond has only been married once, and this was his wedding car. Used in a number of scenes in the 1969 movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service this green six-cylinder Aston Martin DBS was exported to Australia where it was sold in 1978 to the current owner, Sigi Zidziunas, who told ABC News in Australia, “It was advertised in the paper as an ex-film car, but I didn’t believe it, because — no offence — who believes used car salesmen?” Even then, it was expensive: advertised at $14,950 AUD, Zidziunas knocked him down to $14,200 – the equivalent of £8991. Standard cars in good condition were then worth £3050 according to contemporary guides: that’s a 182% premium.
2008 Aston Martin DBS V12, Quantum of Solace
Year of sale: 2012 Standard Hagerty Value: £70,000 Bond Car Value: £241,250 Bond Premium: 245%
Driven by Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace this 2008 Aston Martin DBS was one of seven used for filming. Sold as a ‘collector’s item’, the auction house Christie’s warned potential buyers that they were responsible for ‘all tests and repairs and any other legally required formalities’ to turn it back into a road car. The caution did not deter buyers: it smashed its top pre-sale estimate of £150,000, selling for £241,250, some 245% over what a standard car was worth at the time.
1969 Mercury Cougar XR7, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
Year of sale: 2020 Standard Hagerty Value: £55,500 Bond Car Value: £365,500 Bond Premium: 559%
The Contessa Teresa Di Vicenzo, also known as Tracy Bond, drove a stunning car throughout the 1969 Bond movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service including the first scene which it shared with the Aston Martin DBS-6 described above. One of a reported four Cougars used for filming, it was sold at the Bonhams Bond Street Sale in London on 16th December 2020 for £365,500, smashing its pre-sale estimate of £100,000 to £150,000. That’s a huge 559% above the standard price for the model.
1965 Aston Martin DB5, Thunderball and Goldfinger
Year of sale: 2019 Standard Hagerty Value: £616,550 Bond Car Value: £4,677,850 Bond Premium: 759%
Billed as ‘The most famous car in the world’ when offered for auction in 2019 by RM Sotheby’s and the iconic Bond car, this was the real deal: one of two cars purchased by Eon Productions for the launch of Thunderball and then converted to ‘Q Branch’ specification for the movie Goldfinger. It sold just over its top estimate for $6.38m, or £4.67m, a mark-up of 759% over a standard DB5. In this case, provenance was everything: a similar DB5 that has been used as a stunt car in the filming of Golden Eye was sold by Bonhams the previous year, but it ‘only’ made £1,961,500, just over three times the value of a standard model. But still, it’s only fourth on the list…
2014 Land Rover Defender 110 Double Cab SVX, Spectre
Year of sale: 2018 Standard Hagerty Value: £35,200 Bond Car Value: £365,000 Bond Premium: 937%
Back in 2017, a well-known dealer took me to his storage barn, deep in the British countryside. Swearing me to secrecy, he took me inside and lifted a tarpaulin covering a very special Land Rover, one that had been used in the filming of the movie Spectre. Later that year, RM Sotheby’s sold one of these special Bond SVX Defender 110s for £230,000 and the following July, Bonhams sold another for £365,000. The timing was perfect: production of the original Defender had ended in 2016 but in 2018, the factory had announced a short run of 70th Anniversary specials. Demand for the model went sky-high. The price of the Bonhams Spectre Defender was nearly 940% higher than a standard 110 Defender, but then again, just look at it. It’s as cool as the frozen Austrian landscape where it was filmed.
1974 AMC Hornet, The Man With The Golden Gun
Year of sale: 2017 Standard Hagerty Value: £5200 Bond Car Value: £89,105 Bond Premium: 1614%
Ask anyone to name a James Bond stunt, and the corkscrew ‘Astro Spiral’ jump made by Roger Moore’s Bond in the 1974 movie, The Man with the Golden Gun has to be right at the top of the list. The American-made car used was an unlikely hero: an AMC Hornet so mundane that even the US Hagerty Price Guide doesn’t deem it worthy of inclusion. But the actual car used in filming was very special: maintained exactly as it was during filming, it sold at RM Sotheby’s Auburn, Indiana sale in 2017 for $110,000 (£89,105) – over 1600% over the value of a standard car. That puts it in second place.
1977 Lotus Esprit S1 ‘Wet Nellie’, The Spy Who Love Me
Year of sale: 2013 Standard Hagerty Value: £12,300 Bond Car Value: £616,000 Bond Premium: 4908%
The most valuable Bond car compared with its standard, road-going opposite number is… the 1977 Lotus Esprit S1 known as ‘Wet Nellie’ that starred in the 1977 movie The Spy Who Loved Me. It sold at RM Sotheby’s 2013 London auction for £616,000, a huge 4908% mark-up over the standard Hagerty Price Guide value of the model at the time. Lost after filming, it was rediscovered in a New York storage container in 1989, having been sold for $100 in a blind auction to the next lucky owners.
In fact, the ‘Lotus’ – which was bought at the sale by Elon Musk – was actually a film prop submarine used just in underwater scenes, and it doesn’t even have wheels. So, is it even a car? Should the lowly AMC Hornet take the chequered flag? We’ll leave you to decide.
Best Supporting Actors
Two other Bond cars have been offered at auction, but they failed to make our list because neither was available to the public, so there is no ‘standard’ value. Both cars starred in the 2015 movie Spectre where they famously chased each other through the streets of Rome. Bond’s Aston Martin DB10 was sold by Christie’s in 2016 for £2,434,500 ($3.5M) and in 2019 RM Sotheby’s offered bad-guy Mr Hinx’s Jaguar C-X75 at an auction in Abu Dhabi but it failed to reach its $800,000 low estimate.
The Multistrada V2 is the new gateway to the Multistrada universe: a comfortable, fun to ride, versatile and technologically advanced twin-cylinder bike
5 kg lighter than the previous version and with improved ergonomics, the Multistrada V2 is the perfect bike to experience the beauty of travelling every day
The bike will be available at Ducati dealerships from November 2021, also in a 35-kW version for A2 licence holders
The first episode of the Ducati World Première 2022 web series (link to the video here) is dedicated by the Borgo Panigale manufacturer to the world of travel, with the presentation of the new Multistrada V2.
The ideal bike to enjoy every route, versatile in everyday use and in the city, always with the sportiness and unmistakable style that characterize every Ducati.
With the Multistrada V2 project, the Borgo Panigale company has worked to further evolve the twin-cylinder of the family of Ducati dual bikes, creating a 360° bike, increasingly intuitive, comfortable, fun and accessible.
The new Multistrada V2 is a technologically advanced motorcycle, with an extremely complete electronic package and represents the perfect gateway to the Ducati tourer universe, thanks also to the introduction of the 35-kW version for A2 licence holders.
During the development phases of this bike the main points of focus were ergonomics, weight reduction, engine updates and a series of upgrades that follow the philosophy of “continuous improvement”.
The design of the Multistrada V2 is elegant and sporty at the same time, perfectly in line with the stylistic and recognizable canons of the Borgo Panigale family of dual bikes. A style characterized by fluid lines, clean surfaces and the characteristic and distinctive balance between the important front volume and the slenderness and lightness of the rear. The Multistrada V2 also features new refined graphics, which shows the name of the bike on both sides.
The new Multistrada V2 is equipped with the latest evolution of the 937 cc Testastretta 11° unit. The desmodromic distribution engine, four valves per cylinder, water-cooled, delivers 113 horsepower and approximately 10 kgm of maximum torque*. This twin-cylinder is very linear, manageable and smooth at low revs, and is equipped with a torque that is always ready and vigorous, which if necessary can release all Ducati’s typical sporty and adrenaline-pumping character. Consistent and robust, the engine has extended maintenance intervals, with oil change every 15,000 km and valve clearance check every 30,000 km.
The evolution of the Testastretta 11° mounted on the new Multistrada V2 features important improvements: new connecting rods, new 8-disc hydraulic clutch and an updated gearbox, which guarantees greater fluidity and precision in shifting, also facilitating the engagement of neutral. An even more appreciable progress in use in conjunction with the quick shifter, now with a further optimized operating strategy.
The bike’s chassis is agile and intuitive, with a 19″ front wheel that ensures a smooth, comfortable ride, always with the right level of reactivity and precision. Extremely versatile, the bike is also ideal for urban use, thanks to the effectiveness of the Ducati Skyhook Suspension EVO semi-active suspension system (standard on the S version), which can absorb roughness and unevenness of the ground and always guarantee the ideal set-up of the vehicle, improving safety and comfort.
Important development work has been made on the ergonomics of the bike, to make it more comfortable and more intuitive, able to put any rider at ease in any situation. The height has been reduced to 830 mm, with a redesigned shape of the saddle which is now narrower and more compact between the rider’s legs to allow you to easily touch the ground with your feet thanks to an inseam arch of only 1790mm.
These changes provide safety when the bike is stationary and improve confidence when manoeuvring at low speed even with a passenger and full cases. Furthermore, in the Ducati Performance catalogue a low seat and a lowered suspension kit are available which, combined, allow you to reach a height of 790mm.
The work on the seat also focused on riding comfort: the new shape of the saddle provides a flat area that guarantees the rider freedom of movement in the longitudinal direction, improving the level of comfort and allowing anyone to find the optimal position.
The riding position is now more comfortable with the new footpegs inherited from the Multistrada V4 which, thanks to a 10 mm increase in distance from the seat, ensure the right amount of room also for taller riders, preventing them from bending their legs excessively, and thus allowing a more restful position during long journeys.
Another key area of improvement is the reduction in the bike’s weight, which, through work on many elements, has resulted in a reduction of 5 kg in weight compared to the Multistrada 950.
The engine update has produced a saving of about 2 kg, including the clutch (1.5 kg) and its cover, gearbox drum and connecting rods. Various parts of the vehicle have been lightened, including the mirrors, derived from Multistrada V4, the front brake disc flanges and the rims: the new Multistrada V2 mounts rims derived from the Multistrada V4, which are about 1.7 kg lighter, thus generating an important improvement in the dynamic behaviour of the vehicle. Spoked wheels are also available in the Ducati Performance catalogue, which have been significantly lightened.
The Multistrada V2 is equipped as standard with a state-of-the-art electronic package that offers everything you need to travel in comfort and safety. The package includes ABS Cornering, which guarantees a high degree of safety when braking even when cornering, Vehicle Hold Control, which makes starting on sloping roads easy, Ducati Traction Control, the four Riding Modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro) completely configurable by the user and the new featured Ducati Brake Light system which, in the event of sudden braking, automatically activates the flashing of the rear light in order to signal the condition of sudden slowing down appropriately.
In the S version the journey becomes 5-star thanks to a benchmark full-optional package for the segment, which sees the addition of the Skyhook electronic suspension, Cruise Control, full-LED headlight equipped with Ducati Cornering Lights function which optimizes the illumination of the roadway based on the lean of the motorcycle, Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down, Hands Free system, a high resolution 5” colour TFT dashboard with intuitive interface and backlit handlebar controls.
The colour range consists of the classic “Ducati Red” colour with black rims, available for both Multistrada V2 and Multistrada V2 S, together with the new “Street Grey” livery with black frame and “GP Red” rims, which can only be ordered for the version S.
For the Multistrada V2 family there are two trim levels that can be ordered directly from the factory. The Essential trim is available for both Multistrada V2 and Multistrada V2 S, while the Travel trim, with side bags, heated grips and central stand, can only be ordered for the S version.
The Multistrada V2 will be available in dealerships in the Ducati network starting from November 2021.
The Ducati Performance catalogue also includes a series of specifically designed accessories to enhance the character and qualities of the Multistrada V2.
On all models of the Multistrada family, Ducati offers the exclusive “4Ever Multistrada” warranty, valid for 4 years with unlimited mileage that relies on the service offered by the entire network of dealers of the Bologna-based company**.
The dynamic video presenting the Multistrada V2, filmed on the roads of Tuscany in full “Extraordinary Journey” style, is available on the Ducati YouTube channel.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars showcases a highly Bespoke hand-painted bonnet at this year’s London Craft Week
Remarkable piece of craftsmanship on display at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, London, for duration of London Craft Week
Rolls-Royce offers press and members of the public insight into the world of the leading House of Luxury via LinkedIn stream on 5th October.
“Bespoke Craftsmanship is at the centre of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. We are really proud to be displaying this highly Bespoke bonnet in the window of our new flagship residence in the heart of Mayfair. Inspired by Rolls-Royce’s very own English honeybees, this remarkable bonnet is testament to Rolls-Royce’s peerless craftsmanship.”
Bespoke craftsmanship lies at the very heart of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, with creativity nurtured and expressed at every turn.
A highly skilled artisan from the marque’s Exterior Surface Finish Centre, Allie Knight, has demonstrated her unique talent on a befitting canvas – a Rolls-Royce Phantom bonnet. Showcased at the marque’s new global flagship premises in Berkeley Street, Mayfair, the bonnet will be on display for the duration of this year’s London Craft Week.
Since 2016, the marque’s Global Centre of Luxury Manufacturing Excellence, located on the Duke of Richmond’s Goodwood Estate on the edge of the South Downs National Park, has been home to the Rolls-Royce Apiary – six colonies totalling about 300, 000 English honeybees.
The bees forage across the site, and on the Goodwood Estate, to produce what has become known, worldwide, as ‘the Rolls-Royce of Honey’. These honeybees and the Phantom Rose – an English Tea Rose bred especially for Rolls-Royce and found only at the marque’s headquarters – have been the inspiration for this highly Bespoke bonnet.
For the duration of London Craft Week, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, London, will be transformed to showcase the breadth of character afforded by pinnacle contemporary craft. A global public debut of this highly Bespoke and unique Rolls-Royce bonnet will be displayed in the window of Rolls-Royce’s flagship showroom, in the heart of Mayfair. A unique Champagne cocktail, incorporating Rolls-Royce’s very own, rare honey, has been designed in collaboration with Perrier Jouët for this occasion.
On 5th October, Allie Knight will be offering a rare insight into the world of the leading luxury marque via a LinkedIn stream at 13:00 BST. During the session Allie will reveal the story behind her work on the Bespoke bonnet.
All of the exclusive units forming part the GTA project have now found homes with 500 car enthusiasts
The Alfa Romeo performance icon – the most powerful car ever produced by the brand – completes its journey to become a collector’s car
Reserve list now open for customers still interested in playing a part in the GTA story
To all intents and purposes, the Giulia GTA is now a collector’s car.
Presented to the international press last May, the 500 numbered units have all now been sold to customers from all over the world, including significant numbers from China, Japan and Australia, making it a commercial success on an international level.
A story of authentic passion, it was a project with a strong emotional element that produced a car not just for enthusiasts of the brand, but also for those of sports cars in general. When Alfa Romeo decided to pay tribute to its fans as part of its 110th anniversary celebrations, thoughts immediately turned to the 1965 Giulia GTA, one of the most iconic and successful cars in the brand’s history.
A project inspired by the 1965 Giulia GTA The Autodelta Racing Team developed the 1965 GTA at Balocco, where a team of mechanics worked overtime on a project that made an iconic car a true track vehicle. Similarly, the team that created the present-day Giulia GTA worked on the project in an unconventional way, aiming to bring back to life a memorable chapter in the glorious history of Alfa Romeo. The engineers and mechanics developed the project – codenamed ‘the Monster’ – in the very same places where the ’65 Giulia came to be. In honor of that spirit, the GTA now proudly bears the same historic Autodelta badge. The 1965 Giulia GTA was issued in 500 units, the number required for type approval as a sports car in the Group 2 Turismo class, and the same number of exclusive units are now reserved for the brand’s true fans.
The affinities don’t stop there and extend to the technical side of the project. In terms of ‘alleggerimento’ (lightening), the teams worked on specific design cues for both cars, including the handles, windows and wheels (the latter made of magnesium alloy in the 1965 GTA, its present-day counterpart boasting a specific design and a single locking nut inspired by Formula 1– a unique solution among on-road saloons). Worthy of note are the lightweight materials used in the bodywork (Peraluman 25 in the 1965 GTA, extensive use of carbon fibre in the current model).
A further affinity in terms of aerodynamics lay in the addition of air intakes to both models. This field was only in its early days in 1965, while today’s GTA has benefitted from the collaboration with Sauber Engineering and its 50 years of experience in motorsport, an active participant in the design, prototyping and production of the aerodynamic components, thanks to its own wind tunnel – one of the most advanced in Europe.
One last affinity between the two models is the support provided for the project by professional drivers: the drivers Teodoro Zeccoli and Andrea de Adamich, whose greatest successes were in the Giulia GTA; and the two Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN F1 drivers Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Räikkönen, who played an active role in track testing sessions, during which they provided invaluable indications, especially on the car’s aerodynamic components and handling.
The consistency of work with the past has thus made it possible to maintain a specific feature that has always been the hallmark of an Alfa Romeo creation: functional beauty. The car’s style must correspond to an overarching tenet of beauty, to transcend the passing of time, while maintaining functionality to the advantage of aerodynamic and mechanical efficiency, skillful;y combining form and function This maxim is fully epitomised in the new Giulia GTA.
Alfa Romeo will be opening a reserve list for any customers still interested in purchasing a Giulia GTA, which will be fulfilled in the light of any cancellations. To register interest or for more information please visit www.alfaromeo.co.uk/models/new-giulia-gta.
The FERŌX range extended with a new 4WD premium-luxury model that embodies all the qualities of SUV and pick-ups
MILITEM FERŌX-T represents the maximum evolution of the pick-up as we know it. It also reinvents the current concept of the SUV, transforming it into an SUT: Sport Utility Truck.
The vehicle is suited to daily use as well as off-road excursions. It combines the abilities of an SUV and pick- up into one unit, harmonizing and enhancing the characteristics of each. MILITEM FERŌX-T presents a host of technical and content upgrades, transforming each journey into a unique experience.
FERŌX-T is a premium-luxury pick-up occupying a position in the premium-luxury, niche market. Naturally, it is a model that reflects and upholds the level of excellence that distinguishes the entire MILITEM line-up. It extends the FERŌX range as a pick-up with different characteristics to the MILITEM MAGNUM.
Based on the Gladiator Rubicon, MILITEM FERŌX-T stands out for its unmatched all-terrain capacity, its high-degree of functionality, all-round safety and undisputed versatility.
MILITEM FERŌX-T has distinct muscular looks but does not compromise on practicality, sturdiness and unique performance. In terms of performance and technical content, the FERŌX-T is the “supercar” among pick-ups!
MILITEM FERŌX-T catches the eye with its uncontainable personality, decisive bodyshape and prestigious, hand-finished cabin. The modifications made have radically transformed a vehicle re-engineered by the MILITEM team.
A new arrival for the European market, but not for MILITEM as it is already fitted to the FERŌX, is the 285bhp 3.6L V6 engine, producing 353 Nm of torque.
BODYWORK – SET UP MILITEM describes its latest model as strong, hi-tech and charismatic. The brand’s engineers and designers have developed its performance and style while maintaining the overall “family feeling” of the range. Features such as MILITEM’s emblematic honeycomb black grille (also available in carbon-fiber), “wide body” wheel arches (in carbon-fiber or body-colored) and MILITEM’s 20” rims all feature.
With the FERŌX-T, MILITEM introduces the FERŌX Bar as standard. The roll-bar revolutionizes the design of the original model and allows the retractable LED headlights to be fitted.
Another distinctive element that MILITEM has introduced as on option for the first time on the FERŌX-T is the cargo-bed in hi-tech nautical material; clients can select their own color. The link to the yachting world is clear: with its towing capacity of 3,500kg and a towbar mounted as standard, the MILTEM FERŌX-T is perfect for pulling powerful outboards.
The two Black Performance tailpipes were also designed in-house by MILITEM. They feature a Dual-Mode function able to enhance the SUT’s twin personality: a button on the center console modifies the exhaust notes.
The MILITEM FERŌX-T sports electronically retractable running boards, new smoked “Neutral fumé” front and rear lights, door rim puddle lights and can also be equipped with an LED lightbar in the front bumper.
The MILITEM FERŌX-T is a vehicle able to go where ordinary 4x4s cannot. Most of the merit goes to MILITEM’s new suspension, developed especially for the new model. It can be tweaked to tackle any terrain due to the higher ground clearance delivered by MILITEM’s 2” Lift-Kit. The twin-tank dampeners, in aluminum and finished in carbon-fiber, are a mechanical gem. Thanks to the 4WD Rock-Trac system, as standard, it is possible to select the drive mode and the traction from the four-wheel drive.
For the vehicle’s dynamism and roadholding, MILITEM makes the most of the latest technology, fitting 35×12,50 R20 Cooper All-Terrain tires as well as an adjustable track bar and efficient steering dampers.
INTERIORS Each MILITEM is a handcrafted masterpiece: the cabin is comfortable and luxurious. It is precisely this unconventional blend of muscle-car bodywork and prestigious interiors that is MILITEM’s true identity. The model’s functionality never interferes with the tasteful, refined finish inside. With Italian leather seats fitted by hand and the option to select Alcantara® inserts, climbing on board one of the brand’s models is an overwhelming experience.
MILITEM clients can personalize their car courtesy of a vast range of leather, fabric (including Denim) and technical fibers.
The all-black detailing adds an extra touch of luxury and sportiness to the cabin. The center console houses a button that activates the multi-colored ambient lighting, another exclusive touch from the FERŌX 2021 range.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION The MILITEM FERŌX-T is based on the Gladiator Rubicon. It is fitted with a 285bhp 3.6 V6 petrol engine; it drives the wheels thanks to the “fine tuning” of the engine by MILITEM technicians.
The MILITEM FERŌX-T boasts 4WD and an 8-speed automatic transmission that is commanded by paddle shifts set by the steering wheel; yet another piece of kit that ups the premium levels.
MILITEM FERŌX-T ADVENTURE The MILITEM FERŌX-T is also available with an ADVENTURE pack that emphasizes the multiple off-road capacities of this amazing pick-up. The bumpers and wheel arches are finished in a special scratch-resistant paint. Meanwhile, a snorkel is mounted on the passenger side of the hood that allows the car to “breathe” in water. Wrapping things up is the dedicated luggage rack in scratch-resistant paint, complete with LED headlights for improved off-road driving at night. The ADVENTURE pack includes an extensive range of equipment that make the FERŌX-T ideal for the toughest terrain. The MILITEM FERŌX-T ADVENTURE is fitted with a set of studded Cooper 35×12,50 R20 Mud Terrain tires.
The FERŌX-T embodies the most evolved expression of MILITEM’s American Tech-Italian Made models. Each MILITEM vehicle is the perfect combination of American DNA and majestic Italian craftsmanship. MILITEM redefines iconic American models with an exquisite finish and Italian class and taste. The brand creates exclusive models for the premium-luxury market. It is in the details that MILITEM’s value and unique edge can be gauged!
The list-price of the MILITEM FERŌX-T begins in Italy at €97,490 + VAT. Abroad the price is different in every market. Each MILITEM model is accompanied by a European warranty that extends to 36 months or 100,000km; this can be extended to 72 months and unlimited mileage.
MILITEM’s vehicles have European homologation and are subject to German TÜV safety regulations, one of the world’s leading independent technical associations.
MILITEM’s first corporate showroom was established in Monza but the brand’s commercial network includes three dealerships in Italy: in Bologna, Padova and Mantua. “Today is the most significant day in the history of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars since 4th May, 1904. On that date, our founding fathers, Charles Rolls and Sir Henry Royce, first met and agreed that they were going to create ‘the best motor car in the world’.
“Using the most advanced technology available to them at the time and by applying their remarkable engineering minds, these two pioneers elevated early internal combustion engine cars, from noisy, uncomfortable and rudimentary means of transportation, by setting a completely new benchmark of distinction.
“The cars they created, introduced to the world a true luxury experience and secured for Rolls-Royce the ultimate pinnacle position that it continues to occupy, unchallenged, to this day. The marque has continued to define the very best in internal combustion motoring for more than a century.
“Today, 117 years later, I am proud to announce that Rolls-Royce is to begin the on-road testing programme for an extraordinary new product that will elevate the global all-electric car revolution and create the first – and finest – super-luxury product of its type. This is not a prototype. It’s the real thing, it will be tested in plain sight and our clients will take first deliveries of the car in the fourth quarter of 2023.”
A PROPHECY FULFILLED “The use of electric motors is not a new concept for Rolls-Royce. Sir Henry Royce was fascinated by all things electrified, and his first venture, named F. H. Royce and Company, created dynamos, electric crane motors and patented the bayonet-style light bulb fitting.
“However, it was Charles Rolls who truly prophesied an electrified future for automobiles. In April 1900 he experienced an early electric motor car named the Columbia and declared its electric drive to be ideal.
“Rolls said, ‘The electric car is perfectly noiseless and clean. There is no smell or vibration, and they should become very useful when fixed charging stations can be arranged. But for now, I do not anticipate that they will be very serviceable – at least for many years to come.’
“Charles Rolls’ prophecy has been the subject of constant consideration during the marque’s Goodwood era. But we have not been satisfied that available technology could support the Rolls-Royce experience. Until now.
“Now is the time to change the course of the future of luxury.
“We embark on this bold new future with a huge advantage. Electric drive is uniquely and perfectly suited to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, more so than any other automotive brand. It is silent, refined and creates torque almost instantly, going on to generate tremendous power. This is what we at Rolls-Royce call ‘waftability’.
“At Rolls-Royce, we have been experimenting with an electric powertrain for some time. In 2011 we revealed 102EX, a fully operational all-electric Phantom. We followed this in 2016 with our fully electric 103EX, which represented our vision for the marque several decades into the future.”
A PROMISE KEPT “These extraordinary products prompted a huge amount of interest in electric powertrain technology amongst our clients. They considered it as the perfect fit for Rolls-Royce. And, over the past decade, I have been repeatedly asked, ‘When will Rolls-Royce go electric?’ and ‘When will you produce your first electric car?’
“I answered with an unambiguous promise: ‘Rolls-Royce will go electric, starting this decade.’ Today, I’m keeping my word.”
A REMARKABLE UNDERTAKING “Charles Rolls’ prophecy and my promise have led us to a seminal moment for the marque. Rolls-Royce has embarked on an historic and unique undertaking, which today becomes a reality. Our designers and engineers have worked relentlessly to bring us here: we are now ready to commence road-testing of the first all-electric Rolls-Royce in history.
“This fundamental change in our powertrain technology requires that we challenge every single aspect of the product before we offer it to the most discerning and demanding individuals in the world – our Rolls-Royce clients.
“To do this, we have conceived the most demanding testing programme in Rolls-Royce’s history. We will cover 2.5 million kilometres – a simulation of more than 400 years of use for a Rolls-Royce, on average – and we will travel to all four corners of the world to push this new motor car to the limit.
“You will see these test cars on roads, around the world. Look out for them – they will be in plain sight. They will be tested in all conditions and over all terrains on their multi-million-mile journey – that will literally accelerate Rolls-Royce into the future.”
TRULY FLEXIBLE ARCHITECTURE OF OUR OWN “In 2017, we debuted Phantom, and with it the marque’s proprietary aluminium architecture: a scalable and flexible spaceframe that would underpin all forthcoming Rolls-Royce motor cars. This unique technology – developed for Rolls-Royce by Rolls-Royce and reserved for the marque’s exclusive use – was created to form the foundation of not just different internal combustion engine models, as it now does with Cullinan and Ghost, but models with completely different powertrains.
“To this end, our forthcoming electric car benefits from the Rolls-Royce architecture and therefore the extraordinary experience of a Rolls-Royce on the road. Free of any group platform sharing strategy, we were able to integrate our plans for an electric powertrain into the architecture’s initial design and ensure that this extraordinary new product meets the extremely high expectations of our clients.”
A NEW NAME: A NEW LEGACY “This Rolls-Royce is the fulfilment of a prophecy and it represents a promise kept as we embark upon a unique undertaking. It is the beginning of a new legacy for our brand. In that spirit, we have decided on a completely new name for this car. A name that is as powerful and evocative as the nameplates that have served us so perfectly for the past century – names like Phantom, Ghost and Wraith. It’s a name that perfectly fits the ethereal and other worldly environment within which our products exist – a name that we have reserved especially for this moment: Spectre.
“Spectre is a name given to otherworldly beings synonymous with great power and apparition; creatures of an alternative realm that make their presence felt through fleeting manifestation. A spectre forces the world to pause. It dominates the space it occupies. Then, as quickly as it appears, it dissipates, leaving a wake of exhilaration, energy, and intrigue.
“This name perfectly matches the extraordinary Rolls-Royce that we are announcing today – a motor car that makes its presence felt before disappearing into a world inaccessible to all but the very few. As a quintessentially British brand, we have selected the British spelling, however the meaning is universal.
AN EXTRAORDINARY FUTURE “With this new product we set out our credentials for the full electrification of our entire product portfolio by 2030. By then, Rolls-Royce will no longer be in the business of producing or selling any internal combustion engine products.
“Spectre is the living fulfilment of Charles Rolls’ Prophecy. My Promise, made on behalf of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, is kept. Now we begin a remarkable undertaking. I am proud that we will continue to propel the world’s most progressive and influential women and men into a brilliant, electrified future

First-ever Grand Cherokee 4xe The all-new 2022 Grand Cherokee 4xe is the first Grand Cherokee to offer a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant. Its introduction signals the continued growth of the Jeep brand’s electrified mission of “zero emission freedom,” as the brand explores the future mobility during an anniversary year that celebrates 80 years of achievements, insights and innovations.
The 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicle technology enhances the fun, freedom, and adventure that the Jeep brand is known for, while providing unprecedented performance, fuel economy and environmental friendliness:
Targeting an estimated 25 miles (40 km) of all-electric range and 57 mpge
375 hp and 637Nm (470 lb.-ft.) torque
Quadra Trac II 4×4 system with two-speed transfer case and 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio
47.4:1 crawl ratio
2,720 kg (6,000 lbs) 4xe max towing capability
“The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe driver can tailor its hybrid powertrain to suit each trip, from daily commuting in pure-electric mode to extended road trips with no range anxiety, allowing owners to explore nature off-road in near silence,” Meunier added. “This is another important step toward achieving our global vision of zero emission freedom. By 2025 we plan to offer a fully electric Jeep vehicle in every SUV segment”.
Available in the Grand Cherokee Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve, the 4xe propulsion system combines two electric motors, a 400-volt battery pack, 2.0-litre turbocharged, four-cylinder engine and TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for maximum efficiency and capability.
Overall, the 4xe system delivers 375hp (280 kW) and 637 Nm (470 lb.-ft.) of torque. The Grand Cherokee 4xe, targeting an estimated 25 miles (40 km) of all-electric range, returns an estimated 57 mpge and has an estimated total range of more than 440 miles (708 km).
The fuel-efficient 2.0-litre turbocharged I-4 engine is part of the Stellantis Global Medium Engine family. The high-tech, direct-injection engine uses a twin-scroll, low-inertia turbocharger mounted directly to the cylinder head. Efficiency is enhanced via the use of electric power steering and an electrically driven air conditioning compressor, removing those loads from the engine.
The conventional alternator is replaced with a high-voltage, liquid-cooled motor generator unit. Connected to the engine crankshaft pulley via a belt, the motor generator spins the engine for nearly seamless, fuel-saving, start-stop operation and generates electricity for the battery pack.
A larger high-voltage motor generator is mounted in the transmission, replacing the torque converter. Two clutches manage power and torque from the e-motor and engine.
A clutch is mounted between the engine and the motor. When the system operates in electric-only mode this clutch is open so there is no mechanical linkage between the engine and the e-motor. When the clutch is closed, combined torque from the 2.0-litre engine and the e-motor flow through the automatic transmission. A variable clutch mounted behind the e-motor manages engagement with the transmission to improve drivability and efficiency.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe carries a 400-volt, 17kWh EV battery. The battery units and controls mount underneath the vehicle, packaged under the floor and protected by a series of skid plates.
The battery pack system includes a dedicated heating and cooling circuit to keep the battery at its optimum temperature for best performance. The system includes a dedicated heater unit and a chiller that uses the Grand Cherokee’s air-conditioning refrigerant to reduce coolant temperature when needed.
The 4xe system in the Grand Cherokee also includes an Integrated Dual Charging Module (ICDM) that combines a battery charger and a DC/DC converter in a single, compact unit and a Power Inverter Module (PIM) that is reduced in size. These are mounted under the body and protected with steel shields.
All high-voltage electronics are sealed and waterproof. The Trail Rated Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is capable of water fording up to 24 inches (61 cm).
The charge port is beneath a push-open/push-close cover on the left front wheel arch for convenient nose-in parking at charging locations. The charge port includes LED indicators of charging status. An LED battery level monitor sits on top of the instrument panel, making it easy to check battery state of charge at a glance during charging.
4xe E Selec Modes With E Selec modes, the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe driver can tailor the hybrid powertrain to best suit each trip, whether it be commuting, off-roading or long-distance travel.
The driver selects the desired powertrain mode via buttons mounted on the instrument panel, to the left of the steering wheel:
Hybrid: Blends torque from the electric motor and petrol engine. The powertrain will optimise battery and engine power to deliver the best combination of fuel efficiency and performance
Electric: Operates on zero-emission electric power only until the battery reaches the minimum charge or the driver requests more torque (such as wide-open throttle), which engages the engine
eSave: Prioritises the engine, saving the battery charge for later use. The driver can also choose between Battery Save and Battery Charge during eSave via the Hybrid Electric Pages in the Uconnect 5 system
Regardless of the mode selected, the Grand Cherokee 4xe operates as a hybrid once the battery nears its minimum state of charge.
The driver information display and main touchscreen include Eco Coaching Pages. The Eco Coaching Pages let owners monitor power flow and see the impact of regenerative braking, schedule charging times to take advantage of lower electricity rates and view their driving history with a detail of electric and petrol usage.
Regenerative braking is part of the 4xe system. When the driver steps on the brake pedal, the powertrain control engages the maximum available regenerative braking, up to 0.25 g, from the electric motors to slow the vehicle, augmented with the traditional friction brakes on the Grand Cherokee.
With 4×4 engaged, all four wheels feed torque for regenerative braking, maximising the energy recovery. Electricity from regenerative braking is fed to the battery pack to maintain or increase the state of charge.
A driver-selectable Max Regen feature deploys a more assertive regenerative braking calibration when the vehicle sees zero throttle input from the driver (coasting). Max Regen can slow the Grand Cherokee 4xe faster than standard regenerative braking and generate more electricity for the battery pack.
Legendary Jeep 4×4 Capability The Jeep Grand Cherokee delivers unrivalled capability along with composed on-road driving dynamics. That legendary off-road capability begins courtesy of three 4×4 systems – Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II with rear electronic limited slip-differential (eLSD). All three systems are equipped with an active transfer case to improve traction by moving torque to work with the wheel with the most grip.
The class-exclusive Jeep Quadra-Lift™ air suspension, now with electronic semi-active damping, delivers up to a class-leading 11.3 inches (28.7 cm) of ground clearance and 24 inches (61 cm) of water fording. The system automatically adjusts the shock tuning to changing road conditions for enhanced comfort, stability and control, or may be controlled manually with console controls, and features five height settings for optimum ride performance.
The class-leading Selec-Terrain™ traction management system lets customers choose the on or off-road setting for optimum 4×4 performance. This feature electronically coordinates 4×4 torque split, braking and handling, steering and suspension systems, throttle control, transmission shift, transfer case, traction control, stability control, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and steering feel.
The Selec-Terrain system offers five available terrain modes (Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand) to provide optimised calibrations for any given driving scenario.
New for the 2022 model year Jeep Grand Cherokee 4×4 is front axle disconnect. If the vehicle senses that road conditions do not require all-wheel drive, the front-axle disconnect automatically places the Grand Cherokee in two-wheel drive, reducing drag on the driveline and improving fuel economy. Four-wheel drive automatically re-engages when the vehicle senses it is needed.
Grand Cherokee boasts class-leading 3,265 kg (7,200 lbs) max towing with its 5.7-litre V8.
Trailhawk – the most capable Grand Cherokee The all-new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk elevates the 4×4 capability of the Grand Cherokee even further.
The new Trailhawk features standard all-terrain tyres, integrated off-road camera, Quadra-Lift air suspension with up to 11.3 inches (28.7cm) of ground clearance, improved approach, departure and breakover angles and the Quadra-Drive II active transfer case with rear eLSD and Selec-Terrain.
The most capable model in the new Grand Cherokee line-up also features:
Class-exclusive sway bar disconnect to allow for improved articulation and traction over rocks and rough terrain
Selec-Speed®Control for managing vehicle speed in 4LO while traversing off-road terrain. Award-winning powertrains In addition to the technologically advanced plug-in hybrid electric powertrain of the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, the 2022 Grand Cherokee line-up offers buyers a choice of two powerful, fuel-efficient and refined engines with proven performance for any driving situation.
Standard is the all-aluminium 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine, rated at 293hp and 352Nm (260 lb.-ft.) of torque. Lauded for its power and refinement, the 60-degree angle between the Pentastar V6’s cylinder banks make it inherently smooth running, augmented by accessories that bolt directly to the engine block. A seven-time winner of the Wards 10 Best Engines and Propulsion Systems award, the Pentastar V6 engine is compact, with features such as exhaust manifolds integrated into the cylinder heads.
Chain-driven dual overhead camshafts include two-step variable valve lift and variable-valve timing (VVT). This combination quickly tailors the engine output to the demands of the driver for the best balance of performance and fuel economy.
Fuel-saving engine start-stop (ESS) technology is standard on the Pentastar V6. The ESS system has been upgraded and refined for the Grand Cherokee. Changes include a pressure reserve element in the eight-speed transmission, which provides dedicated transmission fluid to the shift elements at engine restart for a quick launch. Refined powertrain controls and new starter technology minimise early engine restarts from minor movements of the driver’s foot on the brake pedal. Restart noise, vibration and harshness have been reduced via revised controls and switchable engine mounts.
The 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine is rated for a towing capacity of up to 2,812 kg (6,200 pounds) and an estimated class-leading driving range of more than 500 miles.
VVT with dual-independent cam phasing enables better fuel efficiency across a wide torque band in the Pentastar V6 engine. Nearly 90 per cent of the engine’s peak torque is available from 1,800 to 6,400 rpm – an important consideration when towing or hauling.
Buyers who want more power can opt for the award-winning 5.7-litre V8, rated at 357hp and 528Nm (390 lb.-ft.) of torque delivered over a broad power band.
The V8 delivers performance and efficiency with VVT and Fuel Saver Technology (cylinder deactivation). With Fuel Saver Technology, the engine control computer turns off fuel and spark and closes the valves to four of the engine’s cylinders during light-load operation, such as highway cruising, when full power is not needed. The system immediately re-engages the deactivated cylinders when the driver presses on the accelerator pedal.
The 5.7-litre V8 has a class-leading towing capacity of up to 3,265 kg (7,200 pounds).
The V8 engine in the Grand Cherokee uses cylinder shut-off technology that deactivates four cylinders during light acceleration or cruising situations on the highway. The system is active in an expanded region with respect to the previous generations and is unnoticeable to the driver. It provides V8 power for acceleration and heavy loads and four-cylinder operation when the torque requirement is less than the maximum available from four cylinders. Depending on the driving scenario, cylinder shutoff can increase fuel economy from five to 20 per cent.
Fuel economy is further enhanced with VVT technology that reduces the engine’s pumping work by closing the intake valve later and by increasing the expansion process of the combustion event. This allows more energy to be transferred to the wheels instead of being lost out of the exhaust as heat. VVT also improves engine breathing, which improves engine efficiency and power.
Each engine mates to the durable, robust TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, which enhances fuel economy and delivers crisp and smooth gear changes. The widespread of gear ratios helps keep the engine rpm in the ideal range for the task – whether it’s cruising on the highway or exploring off-road trails. On-the-fly shift-map changing enables the transmission to quickly adjust its shift strategy to match the driver’s demands based on inputs, such as engine torque changes, hill detection, temperature and longitudinal and lateral acceleration.
New for the 2022 Grand Cherokee 4×4 is front-axle disconnect.
All-new flexible architecture delivers world-class 4×4 capability, driving dynamics and durability, and first-ever electrified 4xe The all-new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee is built on an all-new architecture that was mission specific for the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee. It’s a purpose-built, flexible architecture engineered for both three and two-rows as well as electrified 4xe capability.
The new unibody construction and chassis of the Grand Cherokee facilitate electrification, while three available best-in-class Jeep 4×4 systems (Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II), Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Terrain traction management system instill the entire Grand Cherokee lineup with legendary Jeep capability.
The flexibility of the new architecture allows for two different wheelbases and lengths as well as electrification. While the two-row Grand Cherokee and three-row Grand Cherokee L share the same overall width of 84.6 inches (215 cm), the two-row Grand Cherokee has a 116.7-inch (296.4 cm) wheelbase compared with the 121.7-inch (309 cm) wheelbase of the Grand Cherokee L, 5.0 inches (12.7 cm) shorter. In overall length the two-row is 193.5 inches (491 cm) compared to 204.9 inches (520.4 cm) of the Grand Cherokee L, an 11.4-inch (28.9 cm) reduction. Without a third row, the fifth-generation two-row package size was optimised to support Jeep capability and 4xe electrification without any customer compromise.
The two-row Grand Cherokee – the most 4×4-capable Grand Cherokee yet – is the second vehicle in this family of capable Jeep SUVs to be built on the new architecture, following the first-ever three-row Grand Cherokee L launched earlier this year. Early in 2022, the third and final phase will begin when the first-ever electrified Grand Cherokee 4xe launches in North America, followed later in the year in global markets.

Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 adds 150 bhp to stock Ford F-150 Raptor Twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 delivers 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds and a 12.9 sec ¼ mile
Hennessey’s best-selling performance truck – the VelociRaptor 600 – continues dominance with the all-new, 3rd-gen, Ford F-150 Raptor
New VelociRaptor 600 develops 600 hp and 622 lb-ft torque
Hennessey taking orders now | Customer deliveries beginning early 2022 | MSRP starting at: $85,950
Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE), the Texas-based hypercar manufacturer and high-performance vehicle creator, has revealed new details of its VelociRaptor 600 package for the all-new, third-generation, Ford F-150 Raptor.
Adding a substantial 150 bhp – a 33 percent increase in power – to Ford’s range-topping performance truck, the Hennessey team is targeting a 4.2 second 0-60 mph time and a 12.9 second ¼ mile for the 600-hp off-roader. Hennessey’s engineers will enhance the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine by adding an upgraded air induction system, high-capacity intercooler system with blow off valve, and upgraded engine-management system. All work is covered by a comprehensive 3-year / 36,000-mile warranty.
Hennessey has established its position as the world’s largest producer of modified F-150 Raptors. Over the past 10 years, the company has built thousands of high-performance VelociRaptor trucks for customers all over the world. Based on the popularity of the previous models, the Hennessey team is confident that the 3rd-gen VelociRaptor 600 will become the company’s best-selling model yet. Orders are being taken now for customer deliveries starting in early 2022.
John Hennessey, company founder and CEO: “The VelociRaptor has been a cornerstone of our production for years with our customers queuing up for the truck’s surprisingly nimble handling, great practicality… and of course, the horsepower! The popularity of this truck presented the opportunity to create a family of VelociRaptors including the SUV, 6×6, V8, and Bronco variants going to customers across the country and around the world.”
The all-new, third-generation, F-150 Raptor is already a high-performance vehicle boasting five-link rear suspension, 24-inch coil springs, and sport-tuned shocks to ensure performance is maximized on- and off-road. The Hennessey modifications retain all the manufacturer driving modes to enable comfortable cruising or high-power performance at the flick of a switch – enhanced engine management software is even capable of maximizing off-the line performance by sending more of the VelociRaptor’s 622 lb-ft torque to the rear wheels.
VelociRaptor owners may enhance their truck even further with a full range of optional upgrades including rugged VelociRaptor front and rear bumpers with integrated LED lights, 20-inch Hennessey wheels, up to 37-inch off-road tires, suspension levelling kit, plus Hennessey and VelociRaptor badging. Customers may also opt for massive six-piston Brembo front brakes to increase stopping power. With most owners opting for the performance upgrade plus the enhanced off-road package (bumpers, wheels, and off-road tires) the total price paid is typically in the region of $110,000 (which includes the stock Ford F-150 Raptor).
Hennessey’s three-year warranty on the VelociRaptor 600 allows customers to properly enjoy their truck and be confident about retaining the Raptor’s rock-solid resale values. VelociRaptor 600 production will be limited to 250 units per year and will be individually numbered with Hennessey interior and engine bay plaques.
The 2021 VelociRaptor will be available for global shipping starting early 2022. Orders may be placed immediately through authorized Ford retailers, or directly with Hennessey, by calling +1 979.885.1300 or visiting HennesseyPerformance.com.

The new extended warranty and scheduled maintenance service is dedicated to the LaFerrari and LaFerrari Aperta supercars
For the first time, Maranello offers an extended factory warranty on a special limited-series model
LaFerrari Power further enhances Ferrari’s range of services, already top in its category
Ferrari presents the new LaFerrari Power extended warranty and programmed maintenance service for owners of the LaFerrari and LaFerrari Aperta, an absolute first for the Maranello-based company’s limited-edition supercars.
The LaFerrari Power service is for customers who want to maintain the performance and excellence of the Company’s first-ever hybrid car, which is equipped with the F1-derived HY-KERS hybrid system.
LaFerrari Power is a two-year renewable programme that can be activated at any official Ferrari dealer, regardless of the car’s year of production.
Owners of LaFerrari or LaFerrari Aperta who take advantage of the LaFerrari Power service will benefit from the extension of the car’s factory warranty, which includes, among other things, the HY-KERS system and high-voltage battery. This is the first time that Maranello has offered its clients this kind of extended warranty for one of its limited-series models, testifying to the quality and reliability of its cars.
LaFerrari Power also includes annual scheduled maintenance during which Maranello-trained technicians will perform a wide range of inspections to ensure that the car is maintained to optimum levels.
The LaFerrari Power launch coincides with the tenth anniversary of the introduction of Genuine Maintenance, the class-leading scheduled maintenance programme available on every new Ferrari in the range up until seven years after purchase. This new service confirms the Company’s commitment to providing maximum peace of mind and how it continues to set the standard throughout the industry for customer care.
Having evaded the ravages of rust and the attention of banger racers, a true survivor 1977 MkIV Ford Cortina 1600L Estate, with just 4,418 miles (7,711km) from new, is heading to auction with Car & Classic.
Underlining its status, 1,131,850 MkIV Cortinas were produced yet it is now one of the rarest variants of the model that regularly topped the UK sales charts. In 1977, the year this car was assembled, the Cortina was the UK’s best seller yet less than 70 are recorded on the road and just two 1600L from that year online.
Incredibly original, this 1600cc version was assembled in Lisbon, Portugal, and was driven sparingly by an elderly lady owner in the country, resulting in the low mileage and incredible level of preservation rarely seen in UK cars. The underside is particularly impressive with clean, smooth finishes on the floor, suspension and drivetrain. The 1600cc engine retains its original blue paint on the rocker cover. Inside, it’s a similar story with beautifully preserved interior and, remarkably for any older Ford, no cracks in the dashboard. Only slight paint blemishes on the bonnet and rear door, as a result of the wrap used to transform the car into a Dubai police car for its role in the Bell Bottom movie, would need attention.
The care bestowed upon it by the original owner is underlined by the inclusion of the service books, owner manual, spare key, tools and a set of factory mud flaps that were never fitted. Retaining its Portuguese heritage, the windscreen still sports local authority and insurance vignettes. Already registered in the UK, it avoids the additional cost and paper now needed when importing cars from overseas.
“Car & Classic has the uncanny knack of offering some of the most incredible cars for auction and this another,” says Chris Pollitt, head of editorial at Car & Classic. “Cortinas once graced every suburban semi’s driveway or were a staple for sales ‘reps’ to thrash to the next appointment, yet now they are virtually extinct and finding another like this would be near impossible. Easy to enjoy, run and service, it’s the car that will spark nostalgia, a true ‘had one of those’ cars, and would be the perfect contender for Hagerty’s Festival of the Unexceptional.”
The MkIV range was introduced in September 1976, replacing the ‘coke bottle’ MkIII. Available as a two-door, four-door or estate with engines ranging from 1300cc through to 2300cc V6, prices started at £2,533. In 1979, its best sales year, 11.3 per cent of new cars in sold the UK were Cortinas.
About: Formed in 2005, Car & Classic is Europe’s number one classic and specialised vehicle website with circa 4,000,000 monthly visitors. Over 40,000 cars listed at any one point through private and trade enthusiast sales portal, Car & Classic also runs a stand-alone auction site, which was launched in July 2020.
The auction platform itself has recently become the largest of its kind in the UK and is rapidly expanding into Europe. Car & Classic’s buyers and sellers benefit from transparent, journalist written auction descriptions, 0% buyers fees and the only auction in Europe to offer secure payments via Escrow to take the risk and pain away from vehicle transactions. You can find the latest car auctions on www.carandclassic.co.uk/auctions where the team specialise in enthusiast-owned cars, from the latest modern classics to pre-war and veteran classics, barn finds and concours-winning classics.
